Wireless Matrix appoints new VP of SMB sales

Wireless Matrix, a provider of GPS fleet tracking services, has appointed Scott Stone as the new vice president of small-to-medium business (SMB) sales.

In his new role, Stone will be responsible for SMB sales, including leading the company's go-to-market strategies for small-to-medium businesses and achieving greater sales penetration into new and existing industries.

The company said that Michael Jakab, executive vice president of sales, will continue to lead the company's enterprise sales efforts.

Stone comes to brings to Wireless Matrix with over 20 years of management and leadership experience in B2B and software businesses.

He has previously served as vice president of sales and marketing for several application and SaaS service companies, including Aptify, ARC Solutions and Avaya (formerly Lucent Technologies).

He was most recently served as the president and founder of the small business consulting firm On-Ramp Associates.

Wireless Matrix president and CEO Richard Carlson said the company has enough traction in the SMB market to merit more serious investment.

"Stone has a wealth of experience selling application and SaaS services to small and medium businesses," Carlson said.

"His proven track record with sales to this strategic market segment makes him a strong addition to the Wireless Matrix team."
